T - Print by Tony Quan (AKA Tempt One)

Tony Quan

Here at Getting Upper we approached the great graffiti artists known as TEMPT ONE and asked if he would manipulate a letter for our project. He kindly agreed. What you may not know is that Tony Quan began tagging in Los Angeles back in the early 1980s and established himself as one of the city’s most important urban voices. In 2003, he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gerhrig’s Disease). Today, Tony is paralyzed but is able to create his work using a software tool called Eyewriter that tracks the movement of his eyes.  His participation in this project means quite a lot to us and we’re honored to have him represent and be represented. It only made sense that TEMPT ONE selected the letter “T” and proved that he is still “getting up.”
