¡Fiesta Cubana! Patron Levels & Tickets

¡Luces! ¡Camara! ¡Acción! The film is rolling for the Pasadena Museum of California Art’s bi-annual Kosmic Krylon Garage benefit. Mark your calendars for ¡Fiesta Cubana! on October 7, 2017, and come together for a Cuban- and Hollywood-themed celebration. This year’s benefit honors members of our community who have had a tremendous impact on expanding PMCA’s educational programs: Reed and Chris Halladay and Dave Lefner.

Throughout the Museum’s 15-year history, a succession of board members has generously dedicated time, donations, and creative energy. Reed and Chris Halladay have been among the most committed to the Museum. In 2000, Reed became one of the earliest PMCA trustees, and he served as Chairman of the Board for several years. He is still an active PMCA board member, and along with Chris, he continues to be a major patron of the arts and arts education. Continuing their support of PMCA, Reed and Chris Halladay have generously agreed to match all ¡Fiesta Cubana! contributions, up to $50,000.

As early supporters of the PMCA’s efforts to expand and strengthen arts education, Reed and Chris encouraged the staff and Board to utilize education and engagement to deepen the impact of PMCA’s illuminating exhibitions. Under their direction, the PMCA broadened its educational offerings to encompass the diverse community programs that have become the Museum’s signature and now serve thousands of visitors of all ages each year.

Native Angeleno and artist Dave Lefner helped advance the PMCA’s educational program with his highly popular series of printmaking workshops. These art-making opportunities are not only a chance for our community to learn from one of the country’s foremost reduction linocut artists, but they have also widened the scope of PMCA programming to include more in-depth learning activities. These workshops will continue this fall in conjunction with Dave’s exhibition in the PMCA Project Room, LA Redux: Reduction Linocuts by Dave Lefner.

We ask you to please become a patron and join us in celebrating the contributions these three outstanding individuals have made to the longevity of the PMCA, California art, and arts education in a fun-filled Cuban fiesta on Saturday, October 7! The party coincides with our dynamic Getty Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA exhibition Hollywood in Havana: Five Decades of Cuban Posters Promoting U.S. Films. Pulling from the vibrant film posters and the creativity and free expression used by Cuban artists to create them, ¡Fiesta Cubana! promises to be a lively affair just like the Hollywood and Cuban cultures that it celebrates.

Dance the Salsa, Conga, Rumba, and more, and don’t forget to wear your best Havana or Hollywood ensembles. Set against a backdrop of classic silent films and Cuban décor, the evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 7:00pm followed by delicious Cuban botanas and drinks, live music, custom screenprints, and other surprises. A silent auction will also feature some of California’s most talented artists, as well as other exclusive items you won’t want to pass up.

The tickets below outline the patron sponsorship levels and benefits available; most include tickets (which are $150 each). All patron gifts are greatly appreciated, and the funds raised will directly support the PMCA’s groundbreaking exhibitions of California art and expanding education and engagement initiative.

Come celebrate with us!
